Guidelines(TM) Prep-Tool

The Guidelines (TM) Prep-Tool(TM) is an ingenious device which at helps "prepare for perfect hand or machine piecing." One can use this to "measure or mark consistent 1/4 Inch seam allowances, tim points for perfect patchwork alignment, and mark seam intersections for precise set-in-seams" The inset photo shows the Prep-Tool(TM) under the pressor foot of a sewing machine, being used to set up a piece of tape to mark a long parallel to the 1/4 inch mark, seam line, so that when fabric is pulled onto the sewing machine table, it not only is 1/4 inch at the needle, but 1/4 inch as it comes up the front of the sewing machine. A 1/4 inch foot is only great if the fabic comes onto the machine in a parallel direction 1/4 inch from the needle.
